Clear Lake is fortunate to have one of the finest municipal bands in the state. Each summer, a group of musical standouts from the area perform on the City Park Bandshell stage. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy an hour of great music! The band is under the direction of Dan Djuren.
Free concerts take place on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and on Sundays at 3:00 p.m. during the months of June and July. First concert will be held on Saturday, June 14th, with the final concert of the season being held on Sunday, July 20, 2008.

Inflate those tires, find your helmet and get biking! Bicyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to combine their love of biking with this 4th annual weekend event that includes great food and music. All ages and biking abilities are encouraged to set out on bicycle rides and rides of varying lengths and difficulty will be planned and marked by organizers.
For the more serious bikers, a USCF sanctioned bike race is also part of the weekend lineup. For additional event and registration information, click here. Proceeds from the event will be used to help build a bicycle and hiking trail around Clear Lake. Registration fee for bike ride and race.

16th annual event features delicious roast pork loin sandwiches, homemade potato salad, baked beans, desserts and drinks. Music, exhibits, broommaking & blacksmith demonstrations and many museum artifacts are also available to experience. Food served from Noon-4:00 p.m. Museum is open from noon until 5:00 pm. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children. This includes admission to the museum, which will feature lively accordion music played by Marlys Petersen, demonstrations, many exhibits, and the traditionally delicious all you can eat meal.

Wooden boats, or "woodies" as they are fondly called, will once again grace Clear Lake in numbers during this 13th annual event. The Clear Lake Antique and Classic Wooden Boat Rendezvous will be held at the Sea Wall area adjacent to City Park. Classic wood and fiberglass boats (powerboats, sailboats, rowboats and canoes carrying names like Chriscraft, Centuries, Garwood and more) will be displayed on land and in the water from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday. Several boat owners will be on hand to answer questions about their beautifully restored boats. While in town, many boat owners will take their vessels out on the lake, creating scenes from days gone by. Free admission. Free Concert! This Key West band will play Buffet/Island music at PM Park's Tiki Bar. They have released 4 CDs, have been on the CBS Morning Show and have a large fan club in Des Moines called the Coconut Castways (fans who do a lot of charity work). Event begins at 8:00 p.m.

The Clear Lake Noon Lions Club hosts this successful fundraiser each year and once again, the Seawall area of City Park will be reserved for the preparation and serving of their 'secret' recipe barbeque dinners. Club members will put on aprons to grill and serve 1/2 chicken dinners with all the trimmings (cole slaw, baked beans, bread & butter and a drink) to nearly 5,000 people. Tickets for the event are available from Lions Club members or the day of the event, 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. or when sold out. Ticket price: $6.00 in advance; $8.00 day of event. Proceeds from the barbeque event are used to support community betterment projects.

The Clear Lake Public Library's Storytelling Festival is the first event of Lakefest, the weekend celebration that also encompasses the Art 'Sail' and Lakeside DixieFest. Friday night storytellers perform eerie tales aboard the Lady of the Lake "Ghost Boat" at 9:00 p.m. Ticket price is $15.00. Saturday three free performances by the Midwest's finest storytellers performing for a multigenerational audience in Clear Lake City Park, 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
