These sensational performers have spread their jazz message around the world and now they are coming to Clear Lake! Get your toes a-tapping with this program of traditional Dixieland favorites, seasoned with a liberal sprinkling of wit and whim. An institution since 1967, Barbary Coast was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2001. 7:00 p.m. performance sponsored by the Clear Lake Area Concert Association. Iowa DNR Free Camping Weekend Friday, May 02, 2008 - Sunday, May 04, 2008
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources sets aside a weekend for free camping at all Iowa State Parks. The free weekend is open to Iowa residents only. Campers are required to fill out a camping slip just like normal, but in the amount paid box, they just write "free". Nonresidents are allowed to camp, but must pay the appropriate fee.

The Frozen Fish Regatta will be held at the Clear Lake Yacht Club & City Beach area. The event will start on Saturday and end on Sunday afternoon. Fleet 10 anticipates competitors from the Division 7 region, which includes states of South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, & Minnesota. For more information please visit www.fleet10.com. Hobie Fleet 10 is a racing fleet of the Clear Lake Yacht Club.
Hobie Fleet 10 is hosting the 2008 Frozen Fish No Frills Points Regatta. Because this year's event is so early in the Spring; we have scheduled it as a "Flex Weekend" event. That means it has a primary date; May 3rd & 4th, and a back-up date the next weekend, May 10 & 11. Visitors to the museum can try turning an old fashioned handcrank ice cream freezer and will enjoy special music, displays and hands on activities such as broommaking and blacksmith projects. Homemade ice cream is prepared and frozen at the museum and served with homemade cakes and bars. 1:00-5:00 pm. Admission: Adults $2.50, children 12 and under 50 cents. Nominal fee for ice cream. Seasonal memberships are $20 for family, $10 for individuals.

Walk 10 miles or 3 miles in support of people with disabilities. Walkers solicit donations to non-profit Opportunity Village before the walk and turn them in at registration. Picnic and prizes follow. Opportunity Village provides services to people with disabilities in North Iowa.

Teams compete to catch the largest amount of walleye by weight in this annual catch and release tournament. A $2500 top prize awaits the winner of the 20th Annual Clear Lake Walleye Classic, with the next 25 places based on 80% payback. The tournament is limited to the first 100 entries.
